ABSTRACT
This research investigates the spatial representation of weather data collected from stations in Badore and Victoria Island, overlaid with satellite-based meteorological information for Lagos. Utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) methodologies, the study examined the spatial distributions and correlations between ground-collected and satellite-derived data. The study specifically utilized the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) spatial interpolation technique to create detailed weather maps and employed data fusion to merge ground-based measurements with satellite observations. Our analysis revealed a positive association between meteorological variables from both primary and secondary sources, suggesting the feasibility of combining terrestrial and satellite-based information to enhance weather predictions and climate models. Our research underscores the significance of integrating diverse data sources to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Lagos' weather patterns and trends, ultimately contributing to more precise weather forecasts and climate simulations.
